What We Do

Three ways to put AI to work in your business

Every engagement starts with understanding your business — not selling you technology.

AI Readiness Audit

Not sure where AI fits? We'll map your workflows, find the highest-impact opportunities, and give you a clear, prioritised roadmap — so you invest in the right things first.

Done-for-You Builds

Once you know what to build, we build it. From automating repetitive admin to creating customer-facing AI tools — we handle the technical work while you keep running your business.

Team Training & Workshops

Give your team the confidence to use AI tools effectively. Hands-on sessions tailored to your industry, your tools, and your actual day-to-day work — not generic AI theory.

How we help

Nine real shapes the work takes

A handful of shapes the work can take — drawn from projects we're working on right now with New Zealand businesses, not stock case studies. Plenty of other possibilities exist too; what fits you specifically usually comes out of a conversation and an audit, not a menu.

Working with your customers

AI voice agents for calls and bookings

Answer the phone after-hours, take bookings, screen enquiries and route the urgent ones to a human. Your business stops missing calls — and the people calling get a useful answer, not a voicemail.

Chat agents on your website

A 24/7 assistant on your site that answers the questions your team gets asked over and over, qualifies new enquiries, and hands warm leads straight to you.

Automated customer communications

Booking confirmations, appointment reminders, follow-ups after a job, review requests, polite chasers on overdue invoices — sent at the right moment, every time, without anyone having to remember.

Behind the scenes, day to day

Quoting and estimating automation

Pull measurements and job data straight from the tools you already use, apply your own pricing rules every time, and turn around accurate quotes in a fraction of the time.

Admin and paperwork automation

The hours your team spends re-keying data between systems — timesheets into payroll, jobs into invoicing, forms into spreadsheets — handled automatically, accurately, in the background.

An assistant that knows your business

A private internal assistant your team can ask: "what's our policy on…", "what did we charge them last time…", "where's the SOP for…". Trained on your own documents, with sources cited.

Software you actually own

Live dashboards from data you already have

One screen showing what's actually happening in the business: job margin, outstanding invoices, what's on each site today. Sourced from the tools you already use, updated in real time.

Custom internal tools to replace spreadsheet chaos

When the spreadsheet you've been duct-taping for three years has stopped coping, we build the proper tool — designed around exactly how you work, not how some off-the-shelf product wishes you did.

Modern websites — built and hosted for you

Fast, mobile-first websites that look professional and turn visitors into enquiries. Built, deployed, and hosted on your behalf — you never touch the infrastructure.

Practice

What the work actually looks like, in three parts

Diagnose

One week inside your operations. We map where time disappears, where errors compound, and where AI is genuinely the right tool — and just as often, where it isn't. You leave with a written brief.

Build

Two to six weeks of focused build work on the one or two changes that justify themselves. You watch it come together. Your team trains on the real thing, not a slide deck.

Hand over

Thirty days of warranty after launch, then we step back. No retainers, no managed services. The aim is that you don't need us again — until you do.

Try It Now

See what AI could do for your business

Describe your business in a sentence. Get 3 specific AI opportunities — powered by the same AI we use with clients — in under 10 seconds.

About

Who you'll be working with

Skip the buzzwords. Find the one or two changes that actually save time, reduce errors, or unlock revenue.

Andrew Hunt

Founder, Wyvern AI

You'll work directly with me on every engagement, supported by a small senior team.

Wyvern is a family name. It was my grandfather's, and it's my own middle name. When I started this business I wanted a name that meant something, not just a clever tech portmanteau. Unlike the classic dragon, the wyvern has only two wings (no extra limbs, no unnecessary complexity, just what it needs to fly). That's the discipline we try to bring to AI: find the one or two things that actually work, build them well, and get out of your way.

I started Wyvern AI because I kept seeing the same thing: small business owners drowning in AI hype but getting zero practical help. The big consultancies want enterprise contracts. The freelancers want to sell whatever's trending this month. Nobody was helping SMBs figure out what actually matters for their business.

My background is in technology and business operations, with a focus on business analysis and program management. I've spent years helping organisations untangle complex problems and find the simplest path to a real result. With AI, that means skipping the buzzwords and finding the one or two changes that save you time, reduce errors, or unlock revenue you're currently leaving on the table.

We work exclusively with small and mid-size businesses because that's where AI can make the biggest difference the fastest — and because I genuinely enjoy working with owners who care about their businesses and their people.

House Rules

What we will not do, even if you ask nicely

Sell you AI when a spreadsheet would do.

Put you on a retainer that bills whether or not we're useful.

Hand off a 200-page report that sits in a drawer.

Bring in junior staff to learn on your time.

FAQ

You're probably wondering...

Every project is different, but we're upfront about pricing. An AI Readiness Audit starts from $2,500 NZD and Team Training from $1,500 NZD — both have defined scope, so the prices are concrete. A Done-for-You Build is scoped to your specific project; the price is agreed in a free 30-minute discovery call before any work starts, so there are no surprises. If you're a New Zealand SME, you may also be eligible for government co-funding through the MBIE AI Advisory Pilot — we can help you figure that out on a discovery call.

Absolutely. Most of the businesses we work with aren't technical — that's exactly why they come to us. You don't need to understand how AI works under the hood. You just need to know what's costing you time or money, and we'll figure out whether AI is the right fix. Sometimes it is, sometimes a simpler solution makes more sense. Either way, you'll know.

An AI Readiness Audit usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. A Done-for-You Build depends on scope, but most projects run 2 to 6 weeks from kickoff to handover. Training workshops are typically a half-day or full-day session. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start — no open-ended engagements.

Big consultancies are built for big companies — enterprise pricing, enterprise timelines, enterprise complexity. We're built for businesses like yours. You'll work directly with me, not a rotating cast of junior analysts. The advice is practical, the timelines are realistic, and you won't pay for a 200-page report that sits in a drawer.

It's a free 30-minute conversation. You tell me what's going on in your business, what's frustrating you, and where you think AI might help. I'll be honest about whether I think there's a real opportunity — and if there isn't, I'll tell you that too. No pitch, no pressure. Worst case, you walk away with a clearer idea of what to think about. Not sure a call is right? Email hello@wyvernai.co.nz instead — happy to answer questions over email first.

You own everything we build for you — the code, the prompts, the integrations, the documentation. Your data stays your data: we use AI providers (like Anthropic and OpenAI) on enterprise terms that don't train on your inputs, and any sensitive data we handle during a build is deleted at handover unless you ask otherwise. We'll talk through the specifics for your situation on the call, including where things live and who has access.

We pick tools to fit the job, not the other way around. For most builds we lean on the major model providers (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google) plus the systems you already use — Xero, HubSpot, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Shopify, and so on. Where it makes sense we'll write custom code; where an off-the-shelf tool is the right answer, we'll say so. The aim is the simplest stack that actually works — not the longest list of logos.

Every build ships with success criteria agreed up front — what "working" means in your specific context, written down before we start. The 30-day warranty covers anything that doesn't meet those criteria: we fix it at no extra cost. If we ever conclude the right call is to walk away rather than keep building, we'll tell you that early — and refund any unused portion of the engagement. The point is for you to come out ahead, not for us to bill the full quote regardless.

By design, you don't need us. Builds come with documentation your team can use, and we hand over every credential and account so nothing is locked to us. If something does come up later — a tweak, a new feature, a question about something we built — get in touch and we'll quote it as a small follow-up engagement. No retainers, no minimums, no recurring fees you forget about.
